About me
Ben Rolland is a second generation woodworker based in Oakland, California. He enjoys making functional objects and sculptures from salvaged american hardwoods. Ben specializes in smaller work and kitchen items, and particularly enjoys hand carving and lathe turning. His inspirations include space-age design, sea creatures, and transportation infrastructure.

I am always open to turning commissions. Spindles, bowls, platters, and cups can be turned to your desired dimensions.

I am always open to new teaching opportunities, public or private. My preferred class size is 1-10 students. My specialty is teaching hand carving and turning, however I have also taught beginner and intermediate power tool fabrication classes.
